LeoVegas, famous online gambling operator, has made some internal changes in the company, naming Marten Forste, their chairman of the board, their new chief operating officer.
He will take on his new role on February 3rd and will be in charge of all the operations in LeoVegas offices in Malta. He will replace Richard Woodbridge who departed from the company for another position elsewhere. He will leave the company in May.
Forste will resume his chairman duties until May…
…when the Annual General Meeting is happening. The new chair will be proposed by the Nomination Committee. He was company’s chair since 2017 and was a part of its board since 2012.
Before his LeoVegas spell, Forste was a chief operating officer at Match Group and its brands, Match, Meetic and Tinder. He was working in a number of operational roles in the gambling industry and has 12 years of experience.
Says Forste:
“The gaming market is dynamic, and I am convinced that we are in the best possible place to further strengthen our position as market leader in the casino segment.
I look forward to working further on the course charted by the management team, creating shareholder value and continuing to take market shares by delivering a safe, sustainable and entertaining customer experience.”
LeoVegas group chief executive, Gudtaf Hagman, added that is unfortunate for the company to lose an ambitious and talented person such as Rochard Woodbridge, who will always be appreciated by his former team and wished him the best for the future.
“Mårten is the perfect successor, as he has been with LeoVegas from the start and is a strong contributing force behind our strategy and operations. He has good knowledge about all parts of LeoVegas and our culture, and he knows what we need to do to further develop the company and be ‘King of Casino,” he added.
LeoVegas will sell their Authentic Gaming subsidiary to Genting Online, it was reported in November.
Says Authentic Gaming’s CEO and founder, Jonas Delin
“We have now laid the foundation for Authentic Gaming to take its next big step in live casino. I am very happy that Genting, with more than 50 years of experience in gaming and entertainment, shares our vision to weave online and land-based casino and has chosen to invest in our product and team.”
